The VCCC Alliance held the third World Indigenous Cancer Conference, bringing together speakers from around the world.

The World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2024, proudly hosted by the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Alliance in partnership with the International Agency for Research on Cancer. The VCCC Alliance is a powerful partnership of 10 leading research, academic and clinical institutions, working together to fundamentally reshape the way we tackle cancer. Through strategic, structured collaboration we drive change at a system level. Our innovative, integrated approach helps accelerate the translation of cutting-edge scientific evidence into better outcomes for people affected by cancer.

The World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2024 presented an outstanding opportunity to bring key Indigenous cancer researchers, clinicians, advocates and community to Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. The conference identified international research priorities, fostered new collaboration, enhanced capacity and shared knowledge and information about Indigenous people living with cancer on a global scale.

The program encompassed topics aligning with the conference theme of Process. Progress. Power. Attendees heard from speakers addressing both challenges and progress across the cancer continuum, from prevention and screening to survivorship and palliative care.
